Service Description

Faith In Paws offers task training for service dogs and therapy dogs, as well as social setting training to ensure public obedience around distractions. Service dog training is offered in two parts, SD1 and SD2, over a span of 10 weeks. Each course is pay per class and requires a deposit to register. Completion of SD1 is required before moving on to SD2. SD1: Intro to Service Dog Training -- Classes are broken into 6 weeks, twice a week sessions. SD1 classes will cover all basic obedience, social setting training, and will introduce task training. SD2: Advanced Service Dog Training -- Classes are broken into 4 weeks, twice a week, for one hour. SD2 will further develop skills learned in SD1, focusing on duration, distance, and fluency in holding cues applied to real-world settings. Not all dogs will be accepted into the program. The dog in training must first have a temperament assessment to meet service dog or therapy dog requirements. Courses for Therapy dogs will be structured the same as Service dog classes.
